Mike also covers the role of finishing, showing how plainishing hammers are used to refine and smooth panels once the heavy shaping is done. As he explains, the power hammer handles roughly 40% of the hard work, with the remaining 60% coming from careful finishing and control on the planishing hammer. Along the way, he shares practical setup advice, machine adjustment tips and technique insights, stressing the importance of working slowly, understanding the material and learning from mistakes to become a better metal shaper over time.
