The 2026 Kia Sportage arrives to bolster one of the brand's pillars in Europe: its best-selling compact SUV, now with a refined design, more technology, and a simplified engine lineup. In this video, we test it with the 1.6 T-GDI 150 hp engine, the entry-level version with a C emissions sticker, to see if it remains a logical choice compared to the hybrid and mild-hybrid diesel. We'll discuss real-world fuel consumption, driving feel, and, above all, whether it's worth paying extra for the electrified powertrains. On the outside, the 2026 Sportage is instantly recognizable thanks to its new Star Map lighting signature, inherited from the EV9, with very vertical headlights and a more robust and less polarizing front end than before. It maintains its proportions of 4.54 m long, 1.865 m wide, and 1.645 m high, with a familiar side profile and a very distinctive C-pillar, while the rear sees only minor tweaks to the taillights and bumper, resulting in a design that gains presence without losing its identity.
