+POCLINK-1 Ultra | Off-Grid Backup? Not for Me

In this video, I unbox and take a first look at the new POCLINK-1 Ultra radios and put their key features to the test. These radios are marketed as a dual-function communication tool, combining push-to-talk over cellular (POC) with a traditional walkie-talkie mode. On paper, that sounds like a solid option for both connected and off-grid use. Here’s what I found. I was unable to test the POC (push-to-talk over cellular) functionality due to connectivity issues at the time of filming. That said, I have previously reviewed the original +POCLINK radios, and in that review the POC feature worked as expected, providing global communication as long as a cellular signal was available. Where things fell apart for me was the walkie-talkie mode. In real-world testing, the walkie-talkie function performed very poorly. Range and reliability were limited, and communication quality was inconsistent. While it’s possible this feature may work better at very short distances or with clear line-of-sight, it did not perform well in the conditions I tested. Because the walkie-talkie mode is what gives these radios their off-grid backup appeal, this was a significant drawback. In conclusion, while I can see a potential use case for these radios, they did not work well for me. For most users, especially those expecting reliable off-grid communication, the +POCLINK-1 Ultra radios may prove to be underperforming. This is an honest first look based on real-world use, not specs on a box. Checkout +POCLINK here: https://poclink.com?sca_ref=8286278.r... Ways to support the channel: Checkout my Amazon store!!
