TRIBUN-VIDEO.COM - The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced the second phase of a retaliatory attack against the United States. In a statement, the IRGC claimed to have successfully struck a US military command and control center in West Asia using 10 ballistic missiles. The attack also targeted the Muwaffaq Salti, or Azraq, Air Base in Jordan. The operation was carried out on Thursday (July 9th) at approximately 2:20 PM local time. Shortly after the attack, air raid warning sirens sounded across Jordan. Local authorities confirmed that Iranian missiles were detected crossing the country's airspace. At the same time, the US Embassy in Amman issued a warning to all US citizens. They were urged to immediately seek shelter in safe locations due to the threat of missiles and drones. In its statement, the IRGC warned that all US military bases in the region could be targeted if Washington launches another attack. Iran also asserted that its next response would be broader in scope. This latest attack is a continuation of the first phase of Iran's retaliatory operation. Previously, IRGC forces launched a combined attack using ballistic missiles and drones on several US military bases in Kuwait and Bahrain. Iran claimed to have hit Camp Arifjan and Ali Al Salem in Kuwait. In addition, attacks were directed at Juffair Air Base and Sheikh Isa Air Base in Bahrain. The series of attacks were said to be a response to the US military operation that struck Iranian territory for two consecutive days. Previously, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) struck approximately 90 military targets in Iran. The targets included missile bases, drone depots, radar systems, and facilities belonging to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps in Bandar Abbas, Qeshm Island, Sirik, and Chabahar. Washington claimed the operation was in retaliation for alleged Iranian attacks on commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz. However, Tehran denied the accusations and accused the US of violating a memorandum of understanding previously agreed upon by the two countries. The Iranian Ministry of Health stated that two days of US attacks killed at least 14 people and injured 78 others. Iran also emphasized that any attack on its territory would be met with a swift and greater response. The escalating tensions have raised concerns about a wider conflict in the Middle East. Furthermore, both Iran and the US have stated their readiness to launch further attacks if they encounter further aggression from their opponents.
