In this moving video, we'll learn the story of how Guatemala helped create the Israeli nation, at a time when diplomatic astuteness became an immensely useful tool to achieve this goal. It is also the story of the man who represented Guatemala during this process, Jorge García Granados, who became one of the most important players in making the State of Israel a reality. The story takes place between 1947 and 1948, when García Granados was elected as a member of the Special Committee on Palestine within the United Nations, and from there, the rest is history.
