Eroica was born in 1997 in Gaiole in Chianti, a small town in Tuscany, Italy. Eroica' is Italian for 'hero'. It is a non-competitive cycling event for amateur cyclists. Participants help each other with punctures on the dirt roads, get off their bikes to chat with people on the roadside when tired, enjoy the local Tuscan food and wine served at aid stations along the route, and enjoy the tranquil nature of the event. Cyclists wear vintage clothing and ride vintage bicycles. Eroica wurde 1997 in Gaiole in Chianti, einer kleinen Stadt in der Toskana, Italien, geboren. Eroica" ist das italienische Wort für "Held". Es handelt sich um ein Radrennen für Amateure, bei dem es keine Wertung gibt.
