Mosel | Streifzug & Sehenswertes | Rhein-Eifel.TV

Video from https://www.rhein-eifel.tv - The 544 km long, romantic Moselle Valley has been cultivated for viticulture since Roman times, with its sun-drenched terraces and steep slopes shaping the landscape. Today, the Moselle wine region, with over 5,200 hectares, is the largest steep-slope wine-growing region in the world, with the Riesling grape variety being the primary focus. Economically, tourism has long since replaced viticulture as the primary source of income, but this would hardly be possible without the landscape shaped by wine, with its many wineries and their seasonally open wine taverns. From Trier to Koblenz, romantic towns with winding streets, beautiful half-timbered houses, and many small and large sights can be found on both banks of the Moselle.
