MOLD infested Azul Beach Resort Negril
Hey y’all 👋🏽 Recently, I had the opportunity to stay at Azul beach resort in Negril, Jamaica. From the outside, this resort looks like a dream come true - located directly on the beach with stunning views. However, my experience staying at this hotel was less than satisfactory and I feel the need to share it with you all. Let me start off by saying that the property is old and outdated. As soon as I entered my room, I was hit with a strong smell of mold. And unfortunately, that wasn't the only place I encountered mold. It was everywhere - on the walls & the ceiling. It was like staying in a moldy, musty cave. The smell was so strong that it reminded me of sewage. To make matters worse, upon check-in, my bathroom was still dirty with towels lying on the floor and the ceiling dripping with water and covered in mold. I immediately went to the front desk to report this issue, but to my surprise, they did absolutely nothing about it. Not even an apology. And to add insult to injury, I had paid $600 for a room upgrade, which they didn't bother to fulfill until the next day after 5pm. I was not impressed. Moving on to the food, I can honestly say it was horrible. I had heard so many people raving about the jerk chicken and how delicious it was. But let me tell you, it was nothing but hot pepper. No seasoning, just pepper. And to top it off, some of the staff members were only nice to us if we tipped them. That is not the kind of service I expect from a luxury resort. Another annoyance was the constant pestering from people on the beach asking for money. It was a hassle trying to relax and enjoy the beach without being disturbed every few minutes. This definitely put a damper on our vacation. To add insult to injury, I had booked this hotel through Priceline and I also reached out to them about my experience. Their resolution was to offer me 15% off on my next reservation. But with the way I was treated at this resort, I don't think I will be booking with Priceline again. I'll stick to my Amex travel for reliable and quality bookings. In total, my stay at this hotel cost me $3000. And I can honestly say it was not worth it. The resort may look beautiful on the outside, but it is completely filthy and outdated on the inside. I would not recommend anyone to stay at Azul beach resort in Negril, Jamaica. I hope my review helps you in your future travel plans and that you can avoid a similar experience. Stay safe and happy travels!
