Welcome to the vibrant world of flowers. The 128th Ooty Flower Show has begun at the Government Botanical Garden in Ooty on 18th May 2026, based on the theme of the year: “Protection and preservation of Tamil heritage and culture.” Along with stunning floral displays mainly featuring asters, more than 7 lakh flowers have been used to create breathtaking replicas of iconic Tamil Nadu landmarks, temples, chariots, cultural symbols, and heritage structures such as the Dr. MGR Central Railway Station, towering lighthouses, and traditional Tamil cultural displays — all set against the scenic beauty of Ooty’s rolling hills. Tourists from across India are flocking to the hill station to witness this vibrant showcase of creativity, culture, and horticultural excellence. There is also scope to further enrich the exhibition with a wider variety of ornamental plants, including orchids, roses, poinsettias, bonsai, succulents such as cacti, ferns, lotus, Nymphaea, and a diverse range of leafy ornamentals such as Aglaonema, Dieffenbachia, Maranta, Calathea, Alocasia, Bromeliads, Cladium, Philodendron, and Peperomia.
