The manifold removal is required to get to the bank 2 spark plugs and ignition coil packs. This will also get you easier access to your VVT solenoids, camshaft position sensors, oxygen sensors, and quite a few other things tucked under it and around the engine. I assume this method would be the same for all 2nd gen Colorados and GMC Canyons. Verify application for your vehicle. At one point I keep calling the ignition coil packs solenoids, and another time I am describing the spark plug and say ceramic, but I mean porcelain.
