Philippines loses UN Security Council bid to Kyrgyzstan
Member states of the United Nations (UN) vote on June 3 for new non-permanent members of the powerful Security Council (SC). The Philippines is vying for the one open seat for the Asia-Pacific Group. Kyrgyzstan, which has never sat in the UN SC, is vying for the same seat.
