Rage de dent? Ce pourrait être une PULPITE - TRAITEMENT et causes | Dentalk! ©
Pulpitis is an inflammation of the dental pulp, or nerve. Here, we discuss its causes and treatment. 0) Introduction 00:00 We discuss the causes and treatment of pulpitis in this Dentalk video from Clínica Médico Dental Pardiñas (http://j.mp/cPardinas). 1) What is pulpitis? 00:17 Pulpitis is an inflammation of the dental pulp, or nerve, which is the vascular and nerve component inside the tooth. It produces pain in response to stimuli such as cold, heat, pressure, and chewing, although in some cases, it can trigger continuous pain. 2) What is the dental pulp? 00:34 The pulp is the soft tissue that contains the nerves, blood vessels, and connective tissue of the teeth. It is located inside and is covered by dentin and enamel, two protective layers. 3) Types of Pulpitis 00:56. The pulp can be damaged like other tissues in the body, leading to two types of damage: 3a) Reversible Pulpitis 1:02. Reversible pulpitis usually presents as a sharp pain that lasts for a moment and then disappears, generally due to a cold stimulus. It is a mild inflammation of the pulp caused by factors that damage the pulp, such as deep cavities, dental erosion, fillings near the nerve, a superficial fracture of the tooth, or sensitivity. 3aa) How to Treat Reversible Pulpitis 02:02. This type of pulpitis is reversible, and treatment will consist of eliminating the cause that triggered the pulp inflammation. The solution generally involves a filling or a composite restoration. 3b) Irreversible Pulpitis 02:29. Irreversible pulpitis refers to the severe and permanent inflammation of the dental pulp. This generally causes intense and constant pain. It is caused by very deep decay, a causal stimulus that is not eliminated in time, or a restriction of the blood supply to the pulp. 3ba) Treatment of Irreversible Pulpitis 03:47. The pulp cannot be restored if it has been irreversibly damaged. The only solution is therefore to perform a root canal. A tooth extraction will be necessary in cases where the destruction is so extensive that the tooth cannot be restored.
