The morning began with Medina's loving insistence on bringing about a change in Nasru's mood. A trip to the city to buy clothes for Nasru was an excuse for them to take a breath and go with a heart full of hope for the reception of their work. Returning to the workshop and installing electrical wires, Nasru worked diligently and energetically to create a better space for the future. But just as the taste of this joint effort and the hope of renovation were sweet in their mouths, the news of the death of a close relative fell on them like a sledgehammer. This incident, in an instant, turned all the joy of shopping and the pleasure of working in a new space into a deep and bewildering sadness.
