Spring Flood In Yosemite Valley, 2023
I made a trip up to Yosemite National Park on May 31, 2023 to photograph the flooded valley and massive waterfalls following several closures earlier in the month due to the flooded roadways and campgrounds. The Merced River had overflowed its banks in several spots and most of the meadows were now covered in reflective pools or small lakes. In addition, Ribbon Fall, Sentinel Fall, and several other seldom seen falls were running at full tilt throughout the park. I had been in the valley during Spring flood conditions but had never seen water levels like this before. With more thunderstorms in the forecast, I made an additional trip and ended up shooting from May 31 - June 15. #yosemite #flood #landscapephotography
