Welcome to Uzbekistan! And welcome to a new series. In this video I am exploring and exposing the hidden gem and fascinating captial city of Uzbekistan; Tashkent. Tashkent is a vibrant city home to 2.4 million residents located in the East of Uzbekistan and should be an essential travel destination for all travellers on the silk road! In this video: 🚇💫We go metro hopping to explore the outstanding and jaw-dropping soviet-sytle metro stations in Tashkent, each hosting a unique and different cultural experience. Whist disembarking at each station to discover the main sites and attractions in Tashkent. 🛒🍞Experience life as a local at Chorsu bazaar where we will experience the famous Uzbek bread making. haggle for some spices, find some new clothes and go meat shopping for fresh Uzbek produce! 🕌☪️Visit the peaceful and picturesque recently-built Minor Mosque. A mosque that although built in the 2010s still exhibits the traditional patterns and shapes of the famous madrassas scattered around Uzbekistan, the heart of the ancient Silk Road. 🏞🚶‍♂️We will also have a stroll through this beautiful city and marvel at the many Soviet and post-soviet statues, structures and monuments whilst learning about the history of Uzbekistan and the significance of these statues to historical, Soviet and modern Uzbek history. 🍚🥩Finally, we end our time at the FAMOUS and OUT OF THIS WORLD DELICIOUS Central Asian Plov centre by the Tashkent TV tower. Here we will see what makes this dish so popular and how it is made for 100s of people everyday (but only for lunch!) Get it while you can! It sells out fast.
