I Accidentally Joined an Amish Auction

I have lived in Indiana my entire life, but somehow I had never truly experienced the Amish community until today. What started as a simple trip to try Amish food in Southern Indiana quickly turned into something I was not expecting. After stopping at an Amish restaurant and trying homemade desserts, a local Mennonite woman told me I needed to visit a Friday night auction nearby. That is where the day completely changed. I walked into the auction with no idea how anything worked. Animals were being sold, people were bidding fast, everyone seemed to understand the system except me, and before I knew it, I somehow ended up with a buyer number in my hand. From Amish food to horse-drawn buggies, livestock auctions, confusing bids, farm animals, and an accidental purchase I did not fully understand, this became one of the most unexpected experiences I have had in my own home state. This is my first real look inside Indiana’s Amish country, and it showed me a side of America I had never seen before. Watch until the end because the auction gets more confusing than I expected.
