Village Style Banana Leaf Chicken Roast - Chicken Pollichathu
Chicken vazhayilalyil pollichathu Ingredients Chicken - 1 kg Shallots - 14 to 15 nos Tomatoes - 2 nos Ginger - 1 nos Garlic - 8 to 9 nos Curry leaves - 3 or 4 sprigs Turmeric powder - 1 tbsp Red chilli powder -1 1/2 tbsp coriander powder - 1 tbsp pepper powder -1 tbsp chicken masala- 1 tbsp Method Firstly we have to crush ginger and garlic ,set aside. Take a pan add cleaned chicken. Add turmeric powder ,red chilli powder,coriander powder ,pepper powder and chicken masala Then add some salt and crush ginger garlic paste. Mix them well and marinated for half an hour. Heat oil in a frying pan add marinated chicken and fry them well. Drain and set aside. Heat oil in a pan add shallots,saute them well. Add crush ginger garlic paste and salt ,saute them well. Then add some turmeric powder ,red chilli powder and chicken masala. Saute them well. Then add chopped tomatoes and saute till they become soften Add water and saute them well. And cook for few more minutes. Remove from fire and keep aside. Wash and wipe the banana leaf ,show it over direct flame for few minutes to loosen. Then placed the half of the masala on the center And add fried chicken pieces on the top add half part of the masala wrap them gently and tie it well.Heat oil in a frying pan Place the chicken wrap Cover the pan with a lid . Cook for 5 to 6 minutes each sides. Remove from pan and set aside. Serve and enjoy the chicken fry with appam or meals.
