The route: Canazei – Passo Sella – Gardena Pass – Corvara – Passo Campolongo – Arabba – Passo Falzarego – Cortina d’Ampezzo. The adventure in numbers: Distance: 80.7 km Elevation gain: 2,090 m Elevation loss: 2,330 m Highlights of the day: Today, the heart of the Dolomites was on the agenda. From Canazei, we started directly on the legendary Sella Ronda. The ascents to the Passo Sella (2,240 m) and the Gardena Pass offered us the most iconic views of the entire tour, directly beneath the vertical walls of the Sella massif. After a fast descent via Corvara and the Passo Campolongo, the toughest part followed: the long climb from Pieve di Livinallongo up to the Passo Falzarego. Passing historic fortifications like the Ruaz barricade, we summoned our last reserves of energy. The reward was an epic descent with views of the Ampezzo Dolomites, until we finally rolled into the sophisticated resort of Cortina d’Ampezzo.
