Vectra SRI gearbox removed and a quick inspection of the differential

Can you remove the gearbox from the vauxhall vectra c 1.8 without removing the subframe? If so then this will make the gearbox removal a lot easier to do on my own. In this, the follow up to, this car was free, I will be working on this 2008 Vauxhall Vectra SRI 140 which has the 1.8 petrol engine and the F17 gearbox which I will inspect for internal damage. So not only is this being done without any assistance from anyone else but I'm also doing it on the driveway without a lift. So doing this job I will be jacking the front end up and supporting the car with the 3ton axle stands. Using the jack I take the weight off the engine and gearbox then placed an axle stand with some wood to take the weight of the engine when it came to removing the gearbox mounts. This is not a guide or how to but it does show that it is possible to remove the gearbox quickly and easily.
