Check out the 2023 Top 10 here:    • 90分の超大作！ 2023年 独断と偏見の花火TOP10  (Panasonic S...   The 2023 Top 10 video I created last year was very well-received, so I decided to put together a new version for 2024 based on my personal preferences. 2024 brought us many stunning fireworks displays, but the weather wasn’t always on our side, making it a challenging year for viewing and filming. Fortunately, I still had the chance to attend and capture many truly memorable displays. In this video, I’ve compiled my personal ranking of the TOP 10 fireworks displays I experienced in 2024. It’s a tribute to the beauty of Japan’s fireworks tradition, even in the face of some weather-related challenges. The following displays are not included in this ranking: 1. Remarkable displays I was unable to attend or film. 2. Displays significantly impacted by poor weather. This ranking is based entirely on my personal impressions. I hope you’ll enjoy watching and celebrating the highlights of Japanese fireworks in 2024. 0:00:01 Prologue 0:01:27 10th Place It is likely the largest and richest fireworks festival in the Tokyo area continuing to grow year after year. This year's collaboration between four renowned pyrotechnic companies was as amazing as ever. While the overall program felt more refined than before, it was a bit disappointing that the 24-inch shells and 600-meter-wide launches were missing. 0:10:38 9th Place It used to be one of my favorite fireworks festivals, but in recent years, possibly due to the town's financial issues, it has become a bit less impressive, which is disappointing. To make matters worse, just before Marugo's grand finale, which is my favorite display, the wind shifted to a headwind, and the finale was sadly obscured by smoke. 0:21:07 8th Place A fireworks festival in Akita, featuring incredible displays by my favorite pyrotechnic company, Ina Kako Horichi Enka. The music-synchronized display, set to the epic music Horichi excels at, was absolutely breathtaking with its dynamic launches. 0:26:21 7th Place This year’s festival was held on a grand scale to celebrate its 50th anniversary. The grand finale was truly spectacular, particularly the twin 24-inch shells, which were absolutely impressive in the end. 0:31:24 6th Place This was only the third edition of the fireworks festival, yet it was so impressive that it felt like a long-established event. The display by Ina-Kako and the finale by Kishi-Kako were especially breathtaking highlights. 0:43:32 5th Place The main event of the festival, the “Taikai Teikyo,” featured an incredible ultra-wide display spanning 900 meters and was as breathtaking as ever. Unfortunately, unfavorable conditions led to a smoky show throughout. Even so, the display was truly inspiring and a testament to why Japan is celebrated for its fireworks. 0:49:19 4th Place After two years, I finally had the chance to enjoy my favorite fireworks festival again. The program, featuring breathtaking 24-inch shells presented by Ina-Kako Horiuchi Enka and sponsored by NTN, was as spectacular as ever. This year, the entire event was revamped, making it an even more captivating experience. 1:03:01 Honorable Mention 1 1:07:55 Honorable Mention 2 1:11:40 Honorable Mention 3 1:19:00 3rd Place Held annually at the end of November, this fireworks display is one of my favorites and marks the conclusion of my year of fireworks videography. The finale was deeply moving, as it brought back memories of the spectacular displays from years past. Additionally, the program by Shinshu Enka, perfectly synchronized to an upbeat soundtrack, was nothing short of breathtaking. 1:31:02 2nd Place I had never attended this fireworks display before, as it mainly features relatively small 5-inch shells. However, seeing it in person completely changed my perspective. I was amazed by its immense scale and stunning beauty. Despite the smaller shell size, the ultra-wide display spanning 600 meters was absolutely breathtaking. Paired with perfect conditions, it became one of the most unforgettable displays of the year. 1:39:57 1st Place Known as "Japan’s Most Touching Fireworks Display," this event fascinates countless fireworks fans every year. Last year’s show was somewhat disappointing due to unfavorable conditions. However, this year, with nearly perfect weather, we enjoyed stunning fireworks from start to finish. The finale, featuring my favorite pyro company, Marugo, was simply mesmerizing, with their signature vibrant colors and dazzling ghost shells on full display.
