McCormick-Deering "baling wire engine" #64

,, first start, pull your chair a little closer to the front,,, we 'er going to start 'er up,, first start after a rebuild,, remember this is not a restoration,,, well maybe restored back to it's baling wire repair day,, no paint, just a liberal coat of boiled linseed oil, for metal protection only,, but it does look good too,, Oh!,, the engine as it was wrote up in the Ken Eder auction sale brochure, this is what it said,,,,,, lot #211 (( IHC-M 1 1/2 hp parts engine, cracked hopper, stuck, ihc 4" cast pulley with bolt holes & small chip, governor weights, broken fuel pump, carb, head, sparkplug )),, you know,,, sounds like one of them engines you just have to have, so said my son and a bid was placed,, the sale was over and the auctioneer said you bought it and if you count all the parts and pieces, about 99 more,,, remember after you have bought a truck load of old rusty flywheel engines you have to get them home (that's when my part of the story starts),,, I should say that the Aumann Auctions crew was a great help in loading these engines, even to the point of bringing in an extra end loader,,,,, thanks to all that helped, oh, and did I mention how hot it was in that semi trailer,,, now,,,,, back to this engine, a deal was made that I would keep the IHC's and bring them here on the east coast of Arkansas for rebuilding,, as I was looking over this group of engines this one was different,, (I might add that that I have less than 10 hours work on this engine,, it's them side trips that I took along the way to explain what I was doing that took so long),, it was that baling wire that was used to tie on the broken off water hopper top??,, who knows how that happened?,, anyway it was good enuff to make it stand apart from all the rest,,, it's an old cast iron 1927 McCormick-Deering flywheel engine (and to be known as the "baling wire engine"), water cooled, ek magneto, throttle governor (this is not a hit and miss engine), 1 1/2 h p at 500 rpm, made by the International Harvester Co, leave a comment, subscribe, pass it on,,, and a special thanks to all who have left a comment, from here on the east coast of Arkansas, thank you, shopdogsam
