My first cross-country ride! πΈπ¬π΄π²πΎ
π΄ββοΈ Singapore to Malaysia Cycling Adventure | Legoland, Kukup & Tanjung Piai πΈπ¬π²πΎ What was supposed to be a group ride organized by Kuya Junie turned into an unforgettable cycling adventure with just three ridersβme, my dad, and Uncle Dennis. Despite the change of plans, we were determined to continue the journey from Singapore to Malaysia and make the most of the day. Our first destination was Legoland Malaysia Resort, located 54km from our hotel. We stopped there for some photos and a much-needed breakfast before continuing our ride towards Kukup Island, another 30km away. Along the route, we enjoyed beautiful countryside scenery that felt completely different from Singapore. The province-like atmosphere, quiet roads, and open landscapes made the ride incredibly enjoyable. One of the highlights of the trip was crossing Pulai Bridge. The climb was worth it, and the view from the top facing towards Kukup was simply stunning. It was definitely one of the most memorable moments of the ride. Unfortunately, when we arrived in Kukup, we found out that the ferry terminal was closed due to a public holiday. Since we couldn't visit the island, we decided to have lunch at New Kukup Seafood Restaurant instead. The food was excellent, and the prices were surprisingly affordable compared to Singapore. After lunch, we continued another 11km to Tanjung Piai after seeing online that there was a park worth visiting. Sadly, we were met with another disappointment as the park was also closed because of the holiday. With no other choice, we started the long ride back to Singapore. The return journey wasn't easy. Along the way, we encountered three mechanical issues: one saddle problem and two flat tires. Fatigue started to set in, but seeing that we were getting closer to the Malaysia checkpoint gave us a much-needed boost of motivation. Once we crossed back into Singapore, we celebrated the end of our adventure with dinner at Lau Pa Sat before making our way back to the hotel. π Route: Singapore β Legoland Malaysia β Kukup β Tanjung Piai β Singapore π Ride Stats: π΄ Total Distance: 201km β±οΈ Ride Time: 7 Hours 27 Minutes Even though some of our planned destinations were closed, the amazing scenery, great food, unexpected challenges, and shared memories made this one epic cycling adventure that we'll never forget.
