The Mars Volta's Omar Rodriguez Lopez was on tour in Australia in December 2011 with his own band, the Omar Rodriguez Lopez Group. Omar also plays bass in the support band, Le Butcherettes fronted by exuberant lead singer Teri Gender Bender (and includes new drummer Lia Braswell). Australian Musician editor Greg Phillips sat down with both Omar and Teri at the East Brunswick Club on the afternoon of one of their sold out Melbourne shows to chat about their music.
