Meet Akida!

Akida, ‪@WellingtonZooTrust‬’s baby chimpanzee, turned 8 months old in time for World Chimpanzee Day on July 13th, and his confidence has been growing each day (his ears have been growing too). Last week he took his first solo steps, although mama Sally didn't let him stray too far. The chimps in care at Wellington Zoo are advocates for their highly endangered wild population. You can do your part to protect the natural habitats of Chimpanzees by purchasing wood and paper products with the FSC logo. This means that the toilet paper, tissues or furniture you buy comes from a sustainable forest and may save the chimps' wild homes.
