Emerson Wildcat DS-50 Record Player From 1977 Repair.
This Emerson Wildcat from 1977, was a carry over from the earlier General Electric models. This had all the usual age-related symptoms. Both mechanical, & electronically. Re-lubed the record changer, researched, & treated the 1W Sprague IC amplifier a bit, fitted it with a more modern cartridge. Volume output is a bit weaker, but the tradeoff is better compliance on stereo records. Records, records, records, recordings, etc. Not the V word, please...Also, a comparison to another player from the same era. The Dee Jay CF-100, fitted with a very similar, almost identical setup.
