SP: cruzamento na Vila Guilherme é palco de acidentes frequentes

A dangerous intersection at the corner of Maria Cândida and Capitão Luiz Ramos streets, located in Vila Guilherme, in the northern part of São Paulo, has been the scene of daily accidents. Local residents have expressed concern about the situation through social media and messages sent to news outlets. Reporter Mônica Simões visited the site and observed several infractions that contribute to the constant incidents. During her stay there, she witnessed several instances of recklessness that almost resulted in further accidents. The lack of a traffic light or speed bumps is cited as an aggravating factor by residents. Flávio Santos, a resident for many years, reports daily difficulties when leaving with his car due to the high frequency of accidents. “When I drive here, it’s difficult; once I was hit leaving my garage,” says Flávio. Ademir Oliveira, a shopkeeper for 24 years at the problematic corner, shares similar experiences. “People drive straight through, motorcyclists fall in the street, hit something, get hurt, and we have to help,” says Ademir.
