My Queen Grafts Worked… Now I Need Five Nucs - Short Form Video 24/05/26
This week’s video is a shorter one as I’m away on holiday, so there won’t be a full long form inspection video this week. In this episode I check whether last week’s grafts were accepted, count up the queen cells, realise I apparently can’t count (Bee Maths strikes again), and then make up five nucs ready for the new queens. Each nuc gets brood, food, plenty of bees and one queen cell, with another cell going back into the queen-rearing colony so they’re not left queenless. A quick look at the next stage of queen rearing: from grafted larvae to mating nucs. Hope you enjoy it, and I’ll be back to the longer inspection videos once I’m home.
