Brookwood: Visiting The UK's Largest Commonwealth War Graves Commission Cemetery | Forces TV

During times of remembrance, many people will visit military cemeteries to pay their respects to the many British and Commonwealth servicemen and women who died in the First and Second World Wars and other conflicts. Often, that means a trip overseas to the battlefields of Passchendaele, D-Day or Arnhem. But there’s also the opportunity for people to show their appreciation in the UK. Brookwood Military Cemetery is the largest Commonwealth War Graves Commission (CWGC) cemetery in the United Kingdom and is the final resting place for more than 5,000 service personnel from Australia, Canada, India, New Zealand, South Africa and the UK and Ireland. It also contains plots dedicated to other nations such as France, Belgium, Poland and Czechoslovakia. It is also the location of the Brookwood American Cemetery and Memorial.
