Prison Interview: "I still don't know why I killed my parents"
Check out our NEW SERIES here: • Locked Up for 25 Years at 15 Years Old | ... Featured in a New York Times Magazine cover story -- In 1993, Greg was a 14-year old small town Indiana kid who had never been in trouble with the law, when in the middle of the night he shot and killed both his parents. Within days, his case was waived to adult court and Greg was ultimately sentenced to 60 years behind bars. At the time, he was the youngest boy in Indiana history to be sent to adult prison. What makes a young kid with no public history of family turmoil do the unthinkable? In this extraordinary prison interview after nearly 20 years behind bars, an adult Greg Ousley reflects on that horrible night and where things went so wrong. According to Greg, his constant state of depression as a young child, his feelings of hopelessness and his parents unwillingness to discuss his issues, led him to complete despair. His story is a case involving the issue of parricide, defined as a person who murders his or her mother or father or sometimes a close relative. But rare is the case where a child kills both his mother and father as Greg did. During his three decades behind bars, Greg committed himself to staying out of trouble and gaining his education while incarcerated, ultimately receiving his college degree. In this exclusive interview, Greg also discusses the truth of what it's like to grow up behind bars -- to enter prison at age 15 and still be locked up approaching age 40. (Update: Greg was released from prison in 2019 and is doing well). ~ Subscribe to our channel for new videos posted EVERY WEEK! ~ All content provided by: Calamari Productions Check out more: calamariproductions.com societyeducationmedia.com
