Quick Tip: What Is Revolver Timing & How Does It Work?
Revolvers are simple, "old-fashioned" guns, right? No way! Bobby Tyler of Tyler Gun Works tells us about revolver timing. In a properly timed revolver, the chamber in the cylinder aligns precisely with the bore as you pull the trigger. At this point, the bolt should have the cylinder locked up solid, and the hammer should be all the way back. But sometimes a revolver is "slow" or "fast". Bobby explains the difference between a "fast" and "slow" cylinder, and what's bad about each. He shows us a properly timed cylinder in operation and explains a little about how he fixes a mistimed cylinder in his shop. And if you recognize Bobby, that's understandable: he was on the cover of Brownells Catalog No. 71! Bobby's shop: https://www.tylergunworks.com/ More Brownells videos: http://www.brownellsvideos.com
