Queensland Paperbark Swamp in a Glass Terrarium GMH Workshop The part of Queensland where I live is full of Paperbark swamps… and driving past them every day inspired this terrarium build. 🌿 In this video, I create a mini paperbark swamp terrarium using a vine-covered “tree”, moss, ferns, and creeping ground cover plants to recreate that wetland forest feel inside glass. If you enjoy relaxing builds with natural textures and peaceful jungle vibes, you’re in the right place. ✅ SUBSCRIBE for more terrarium builds (it’s free and it helps the channel a ton!) 🌱 Terrarium Build Theme Paperbark Swamp / Flooded Wetland Look Vine-covered fallen paperbark tree effect Ferns + moss + swampy ground cover Gravel detail to mimic flood debris piling against the tree 🧰 Materials Used Drainage Layer Red scoria (porous, great for moisture + bacteria) Barrier Weed mat (trimmed + heat sealed so it won’t fray) Substrate My homemade terrarium mix Hardscape Twig “paperbark tree” + fallen branch pieces Decor Fine river gravel 🌿 Plants & Moss Used Selaginella (lush swampy texture) Nephrolepis (mini fern) Hydrocotyle (weedy creeping ground cover) Ficus pumila (vines climbing the tree) Moss (multiple types, including moss with capsules for extra scale) 💡 Build Notes ✅ Custom weed mat cut using a battery soldering iron for clean sealed edges ✅ Vine-wrapped tree effect to mimic paperbarks weighed down during flood events ✅ Moss pressed into damp soil for better contact + faster recovery 💬 Your Turn What would you have done differently?
