12 Hour Layover in Shanghai 🇨🇳 | Free Tour, Food & Hidden Gems

I had a 12 hour layover in Shanghai and honestly didn't expect to enjoy it this much! I started my layover by joining a free Shanghai layover tour, which lasted around 5 hours and took me to Yu Garden and The Bund for my first taste of the city. Instead of hiding straight back to the airport, I decided to stay in the city and explore more on my own. I wandered through People's Park, visited the Shanghai museum and tried local food including shrimp wonton soup and beef noodles. 🍜 This short stopover completely changed my expectations of Shanghai and made me want to come back for longer.
