East Japan Railway Company (JR East), which operates railway services across eastern Japan including Tokyo, has designated the area between Hamamatsucho and Oimachi stations in southern Tokyo as “Greater Shinagawa.” Through integrated development across this district, the company is promoting an urban strategy aimed at enhancing Tokyo’s appeal and shaping its future as an international city. On March 28, 2026, TAKANAWA GATEWAY CITY celebrated its grand opening, alongside the launch of OIMACHI TRACKS, marking the beginning of new urban development within Greater Shinagawa.
