There is great concern in northern Hesse: Around Grebenstein and Hofgeismar, entire bee colonies are dying within just a few days. Seventeen beekeepers are affected, and thousands of bees lie dead in front of their hives. The reason for the deaths is still unclear. Laboratory tests are now underway to determine whether pesticides, another environmental factor, or something else entirely is behind the mysterious bee deaths.
