A Hebridean Odyssey: Part 5 - South Uist & Benbecula EDITED - ORIGINAL BLOCKED DUE TO COPYRIGHT

This video has been re-edited with one new music track since a copyright issue blocked the original (with over 1000 views!) uploaded in August 2022. It is the fifth in a series that documents a trip taken in May 2022, in which we visited 16 of the Hebridean islands. This episode is a video diary of places visited, scenery seen and roads driven on the islands of South Uist and Benbecula in the Western Isles. South Uist is joined to Eriskay to the south by a causeway and comprises miles of wild, windswept empty beaches to the west, fringed with vast flat expanses of machair; quiet roads to explore off the main spine road, and mountains, lochs and moorland to the east. There are many catholic churches and shrines dotted around. To the north of South Uist, across a causeway, lies the island of Benbecula. The east side of the mostly flat island is scattered with lochs and lochans and contains its only hill. To the west are beaches, machair and an airport and army base at Balivanich.
