7 DAYS TO DIE: WHICH PROFILE BRANCHES ARE BEST TO START WITH? A common question I get in 7 DAYS TO DIE is which are the best skill branches to start playing with; and in this video, I'll answer that question. Let's get this over with. Honestly, all 5 skill branches in 7 Days to Die are balanced. It's not perfect, but it's good. For new players who want to start a game, the 3 best branches to begin with are Strength, Agility, and Perception. Of the 3, I recommend choosing the one that appeals to you most based on your playstyle and the weapons you like best. Perception is the long-range branch, with rifles and spears being the longest-range weapons in the game. These will allow you to kill zombies left and right while maintaining a safe distance. Perception also grants you the Salvage Ops ability, which will allow you to dismantle everything. This will give you access to all kinds of crafting resources quickly and easily. Strength is the Block Damage branch, with shotguns, bats, and maces being among the weapons with the highest block damage. They are also very good weapons for crowd control. As for melee weapons, I advise you to choose only one, either bats or maces, but not both: I recommend maces. The Strength branch focuses on mining, and it is through mining that you will be able to collect huge amounts of crafting resources. Agility is the Stealth and Mobility branch, with its knives, bows, crossbows, and handguns being the quietest weapons in the game. Not only that, but attacking a zombie in stealth gives you a damage bonus. Bladed weapons have the largest stealth damage bonus, followed by crossbows and bows; unfortunately, this damage bonus is not present for handguns. The stealth damage bonus is so great that you can neutralize powerful enemies with a single attack. Agility doesn't have any resource-related skills, so if you choose Agility, you'll have to live as a mercenary, doing missions to earn the money needed to buy everything you need, as well as looting everything at points of interest to improve your base. On the other hand, Intellect and Fortitude are good skill trees, but I wouldn't recommend them to new players. The best thing about the Intellect skill tree is its improvements in crafting and using crafting tables. The problem is that crafting tables like the Chemistry Table, Forge, and Workbench are often confusing mechanics for some new players, which is why I don't recommend it. Fortitude, on the other hand, is inefficient; similar to Agility, it doesn't have any skills related to crafting resources. So, it's another path to becoming a mercenary, but using assault rifles is inefficient at the start of the game since 7.62mm ammo is the rarest and most expensive in the game. Not only that, the damage difference per shot between assault rifles and sniper rifles is around 40 points; so at the beginning of a game, you'll run out of ammo if you play with Fortitude. Add to that the fact that several Fortitude skills cause your character to use up food and water faster, meaning you'll have to eat more frequently; which, again, will make it harder for new players in a new game to have enough food and water. As for the general skills section, my recommendation is to level up one of the three armor skills: Light, Medium, or Heavy. I advise against the Lockpicking skill. I only recommend Lucky Looter if you're level 80 or higher, but I don't advise leveling it up if you're already level 200 or higher. I only recommend Living Off the Land if you're interested in having a farm. And Master Chef is my favorite of these, but if you're not interested in cooking, you can live without it. Regardless of which skill tree you choose, my advice is to always start by leveling up both the base skill of the skill tree and the melee weapon skill. Once you have the base skill of the skill tree and its melee weapon maxed out, go to the general skills tree and level up one of the armor skills so you can find more books and armor pieces. Then go back to your skill tree and max out your ranged weapon skill. With that done, continue leveling up the next two sections of your chosen skill tree. Remember that you can't have every skill in the game, so if a skill doesn't interest you, don't level it up. Only level up what you're going to use.
