How To Make BETTER SOUNDING Drum Covers!
There's an ocean of terrible electronic drum covers out there. If you want to stand out, up your drum cover game by using Drum Software Plugins! Most People Just Record Stereo R/L coming straight from the drum module. Maybe with the music baked into the track because it's going the AUX In of the module too. That's a really easy way to record and really great for your first couple dozen drum covers. But if you really want to get better sound, drum plugins on your computer are the way to go. Here's how it works: (Tutorial Steps Written Below) Watch Part 2 Here! • How To Make Better LOOKING Drum Covers ✅The Drum Software: Superior Drummer 3 ✅The DAW: Reaper ✅The Audio Interface: Focusrite 2i2 https://amzn.to/2L5NUmz ✅Here's A Headphone Extension Cable To Reach Your Laptop: https://amzn.to/2HovZ9v 1. Connect your computer to your laptop via USB cable. If you have an old drum module you'll need a MIDI to USB Cable. 2. Download a DAW program such as Reaper 3. Download a Drum Plugin, such as a Superior Drummer 3 or Addictive Drums. (this is sometimes called a Drum VST or Drum Software 4. READ THE MANUAL for your DAW, every one of them is different, so it's kinda impossible to explain how to use each one in this video :) 5. Open up your Midi Device Settings and see if your drum module has shown up. If it hasn't, you may have to restart your module, or close out your DAW and open it up again. When you see the module (TD30 for example) click on it and enable midi from this device. 6. Set Audio Thread to highest priority 7. Lower Buffer size to 64 in the audio settings menu. This lowers latency 8. Open your drum plugin that you downloaded inside the DAW. Open the Midi/Edrums setting inside of the drum software. Select your drum module brand. This maps the midi notes correctly for your drumset. That way when you hit a drum, it makes the right sound. 9. Plug your headphones into THE LAPTOP. Not your drum module. 10. Press record and play! 11. Stop Record, adjust the drum audio to your liking, switch sounds ect. Then go to file, render, and name your track. Once rendered, you can then use this new high quality track in your video editor for your cover!
