Le livre du Kouzari - cours 25 - Israel, comme condensé des nations et de leurs engendrements

Rabbi Yehuda Halevi teaches us that the identity of the people of Israel, which reveals the universal dimension of humanity, does not stem from a consensus around a unifying factor, but is the fruit of creation by the Creator, like everything else in His creation. This contrasts with other nations, created and destroyed as a result of their agreements. Is there a clear and comprehensive definition of the identity of "Israel," as can be observed for other nations? If so, what is it? If not, why not? It is time to examine sources on this subject, both ancient and modern, in order to better understand human sociological nature, if indeed it exists.
