Поезда из будущего над туалетами из прошлого. Как живут люди на окраине Астаны?
The Prigorodny district and the Aviator dacha community were once built as departmental settlements and dachas for employees of the Tselinograd airport. Decades later, these places literally found themselves within the sprawling capital. Today, it's one of Astana's most unusual and picturesque corners, where driverless LRT trains fly over private homes, vegetable gardens, and outdoor toilets. We headed to the outskirts of the capital to show the unvarnished reality of life in this unique neighborhood. This episode features stories of local residents, real rental and house prices, the atmosphere of old Astana, and reflections on how modern technology coexists with familiar suburban life. What future awaits these neighborhoods and why people don't want to leave? Watch the new episode of the "Contrasts" project!
