"JURA TO TELL THE TRUTH" was a program that paid tribute to another great radio program: "La Tremenda Corte." Written by Castor Vispo, it was a Cuban comedy show from the first half of the 20th century. It stood out for its traditional humor style, adding to this the spontaneous spark of actors such as Leopoldo Fernandez as Tres Patines, Anibal del Mar as El Tremendo Juez, Norma Zuñiga as Luz Maria Nanananina, among others. Starting in 2002, it began broadcasting on Cuban television: "Do you swear to tell the truth?" IN THIS PROPOSAL, ULISES TOIRAC PLAYS CHIVICHANA AND OTHER CHARACTERS ALSO STAND OUT, SUCH AS BAUDILIO ESPINOSA AS PROFESSOR PEPE RILLO, ALEANYS JAUREGUI AS CUQUI LA MORA, GEONEL MARTÍN AS THE SECRETARY AND HILARIO PEÑA AS THE JUDGE. From the original format of the tremendous court, codes were maintained, such as the recurring use of "MAMITA" (Chivichana's mother), the "seguidilla" (a resource used to string together a chain of confusing words, one after the other), the fines imposed within the judicial framework of the old courts, and also the final sentence issued by the judge, in the form of a tenth. Initially, with Otto Ortiz as its main writer and screenwriter, and with only 15 minutes on the air, the show didn't have the expected reception. However, later, after the addition of actor and screenwriter Baudilio Espinoza to the cast, and with a run of thirty minutes, following a strict policy of accommodating the preferences of the Cuban public, it steadily gained popularity, becoming the most popular among all Cuban comedy programs. Voted several times as the most popular program on all television, it has won various awards at the National Television Festival, the Caracol Awards, and the Caricatos Awards from the National Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba. The program featured countless leading Cuban actors, including foreigners such as Argentinian Guillermo Francella, as occasional plaintiffs. It also featured renowned non-actors, such as sports champions Javier Sotomayor and Débora Andollo, and musicians such as David Calzado (director of La Charanga Habanera). THIS PROJECT ALSO WENT TO THEATER WITH SCRIPTS SUCH AS VIAJICIDIO, BRUJICIDIO, OLIMPIADICIDIO, AND TRAMITECIDIO. UNTIL 2009, THE SHOW RUN, RISE TO THE TOP OF THE RATINGS AND HAD A TOTAL OF FIVE GREAT SEASONS.
