Fluid Mechanics Lesson 03C: Submerged CurvedPlate
Fluid Mechanics Lesson Series - Lesson 03C: Submerged Curved Plate In this 12-minute video, Professor Cimbala applies the equation of hydrostatics to analyze the force on a submerged curved plate. This is the third lesson on hydrostatic forces on submerged bodies, (1) vertical plates, (2) inclined plates, and (3) curved plates, and is the most general of the three. The general case involves difficult integration, but Dr. Cimbala shows a trick to help solve this kind of problem, along with a practical example problem. This video incorporates material from Section 3-5 of the Fluid Mechanics textbook by Cengel and Cimbala.
