Filipino artist, Elmer Borlongan invites us into his studio in San Antonio, Zambales, where he creates distinctive works depicting the struggles and hopes of working-class life. The trees, rivers, mountains and the sea surrounding his studio guide the artist’s work, rhythm and worldview. The artist’s first solo exhibition in Australia, ‘Tabi-Tabi Po’ at Ames Yavuz Sydney (2025) draws from a philosophy of deep respect for the agency and interconnectedness of nature.
