How to rebuild drum brakes, Classic Chevy, Pontiac, Rear Drum Brakes-1967 Pontiac Firebird PART 13
In this episode we rebuild the drum brakes on the classic 1967 Pontiac Firebird project, these are the same GM 9.5 drum brakes found on Chevy Camaro's and other GM cars and trucks in the 1960s and 1970s. Do one side at a time, so you can use the other side as a reference, the job isn't hard at all just takes some time (about an hour or so per wheel) and you don't need special tools to do it either. The cost of parts is dirty cheap! New shoes are about $25, new wheel cylinders run about $20 each, new spring kit for both wheels is about $10, and the rubber brake line runs about $25 as well.
