HD-Duo of Alco RS-3s on the Battenkill
The Battenkill Railroad of upstate New York's latest assignment is holding a large quantity of COVX Spines built in Hamilton, Ontario that were supposed to be used on garbage trains from New York City. There have been a few deliveries of them in the past, but nothing one locomotive couldn't handle. Today, a massive train for Battenkill standards was taken north from Eagle Bridge, calling forth their second Alco RS-3 #4116 along with #605. I was a little 'late to the party' so to speak, and Happened to stumble upon the train in Cambridge,NY. Here we have a chase of these two beautiful locomotives from Shushan, to Salem,NY, i stopped at almost every location possible to get as many photos of this historic event, being that i unfortunately missed the trip down to Eagle Bridge . Very few places can you see more than one RS-3 in freight service, and it seldomly happens on the Battenkill. Thanks for Watching!!
