Even on vacation, I never go anywhere without my rod! Today, I’m using a Light setup (up to 7g) to see what the Mediterranean Sea has to offer. It turned out to be an action-packed session with some surprising catches! What's inside: The Gear: I’ll show you my compact travel kit, including my 4-piece travel rod, lures, and reel maintenance tips after saltwater use. The Catch: From pesky pufferfish (Fugu) and colorful reef fish to hard-fighting Sea Bass and even a powerful Bonito that nearly stripped my line! Techniques: Watching how different species react to soft plastics (Nimble, shrimp imitations) and small jigs (jigging/pilkers). My setup for this trip: Rod: Travel version (up to 7g) Reel: Shallow spool with PE 0.4 / 0.2 braided line Leader: 0.3mm Fluorocarbon Lures: Soft plastics (red & green colors worked best!), 5g Jigs (Pro Hunter) Shore fishing in Turkey is a blast, but you have to be careful with those "spiky" and toxic fish — always stay safe!
