Более 20 тысяч студентов в Казахстане не обеспечены местами в общежитиях
More than twenty thousand students in Kazakhstan are unable to find dormitory space. This is only the official data from the Bureau of National Statistics. Members of parliament who visited student housing in Almaty and Astana claim the real situation is much worse. Anuar Amangeldinov's report. ANUAR AMANGELDINOV, correspondent: Officially, according to the Bureau of National Statistics, the need for dormitory space for 2025-2026 was 115,000 beds. However, only 95,000 students were provided with accommodation. As a result, 20,000 had to solve their housing problems on their own. Marlen Amangeldyuly also had to look for housing on his own. He currently shares a two-bedroom apartment with four friends. He says they pay 280,000 tenge per month in rent, not including utilities. MARLEN AMANGELDyuly, student: I have a stipend. That's what I use to pay my rent. My parents also help. It so happens that dorm spaces are mostly given only to first-year students. Others are given quotas or based on their activity. But even then, these are also first- and second-year students. I'm actually a fourth-year student. Therefore, I don't have a dorm space. All out-of-town students, regardless of their year of study, should receive dorm spaces. Majilis Deputy Nurgul Tau is convinced of this. In her opinion, the forced search for rent seriously interferes with their studies. What the Majilis member observed during an inspection of student dorms in Astana and Almaty prompted her to raise this pressing issue. The deputy proposes solving the problem using digital technologies. NURGUL TAU, Deputy of the Majilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan: "If there were a unified digital platform, every student could submit an application and search for a dorm that suits their needs. Furthermore, we would be able to see which years of study were able to secure a space and which were not. It would be worthwhile to introduce a KPI system for akimats (local administrations) to help them attract investors." Among other things, incentives should be introduced for those wishing to build dormitories. According to the National Statistics Bureau, approximately 680,000 students studied in Kazakhstan this academic year. More than half of them were from out of town. #Informburo #31arna #BastyZhaңalyқtar #News #31kanal
