‘Demonstrates who’s running the country’: ALP conference trashed as ‘union affair’

Sky News host Chris Kenny says the Australian Labor Party conference is a demonstration of who’s really “running the country”. ​“Remember this is a union affair, the ALP is the political wing of the union movement, and with 50 per cent of all the delegates on the conference floor held directly by unions, they control the show,” Mr Kenny said. ​“One of the largest left-faction unions, the AMWU, wants to get rid of the union jack from our flag and remove colonial statues. In substance it's far worse than that. ​“In the Australian Financial Review today, James Mathias costed their policies at $160 billion a year. ​”We all know the conference is only going to make it worse for the rest of us: more union power, more government spending, and more economic pain. “At least it demonstrates who's running the country, and who they're running it for.”
