Umbriano: a difesa dell'Abbazia

Between panettone and pandoro, we indulge in a brief and pleasant urbex tour of the ghost town of Umbriano, in Valneria. Built in the 8th century to defend the nearby Abbey of San Pietro in Valle, it was abandoned after World War II. Plans to restore it and redevelop it have unfortunately stalled. We visit what remains of the small church of San Rocco, with faint traces of frescoes by Lo Spagna.
