After a day's absence in the city, he returns home to find his entire family massacred by a demon—except for Nezuko, who survived but was transformed into a demon. When Nezuko tries to attack him, the Demon Slayer Giyu Tomioka appears and is about to kill her. Desperate, Tanjiro begs for his sister's life and displays enough courage to impress Giyu, who decides to spare her and directs Tanjiro to seek out Sakonji Urokodaki on Mount Sagiri. SYNOPSIS Episode 2 In this episode, Tanjiro and Nezuko set off for Mount Sagiri. During the night, Tanjiro smells blood in a temple and finds a demon devouring victims—his first real fight, from which he barely emerges alive, with Nezuko needing to protect him. At dawn, the mysterious Sakonji Urokodaki appears wearing a Tengu mask and harshly questions Tanjiro about what he would do if Nezuko killed someone. After an exhausting test of endurance up the mountain, Tanjiro reaches his limit and collapses at Urokodaki's door—who accepts him as a student. Music by: Epidemic Sound*
