In this video, my guest is Murat Erkenez. He's 34 years old, a graphic designer, and was born in Izmir. Due to his work, he lived in Istanbul for many years, then returned to Antalya. However, the chaos, pace, and weariness of metropolitan life in the big city pushed him to seek something completely different. Passionate about nature, Murat turned his attention to İncecikler Village in Bergama to create a calm and authentic life. There, he rented a large 24-acre farm. His initial goal wasn't livestock farming; it was simply to live a simpler, more peaceful life in nature. However, the barns, feed machines, milking system, and financial necessities on the farm gradually drew him into a completely different process. This small venture quickly grew. By the end of the day, it had transformed into a very intensive system producing eggs, milk, and cheese with 1000 chickens, 120 goats and sheep, and 16 cows. But this path he embarked on for peace gradually turned into a demanding work schedule and a significant commercial burden. Murat experienced a serious health problem during this period, spent 15 days in treatment, and came face-to-face with death. Moreover, because he tried to shoulder everything alone, the system he had built after this health crisis collapsed, and he was on the verge of bankruptcy. This video tells the story of that turning point. We hear about a young man who fled the metropolis to the countryside, took on another burden there, nearly lost his health, then questioned everything anew, and finally found the life he truly sought. Today, Murat lives in Bergama's Kozak Plateau, running a picnic area in the forest, in what he calls his "paradise."
